Getting Started

    • Funterra is a streaming edutainment platform that offers fun, entertaining games with an educational backbone.
    • Full access to all games requires a monthly Funterra subscription.

Note: The Funterra subscription is separate and distinct from other SMART subscriptions, such as SMART Learning Suite.
    • We are extremely fortunate to offer a mix of diverse content – some developed in-house and some curated from our amazing partner network.
    • Our games won’t feel like an extension of the school’s curriculum. In fact, that’s the point. Funterra offers edutainment that kids will engage with naturally in a home setting, without the need for explicit instruction from a teacher.
    • The more you watch and play, the better Funterra gets at recommending games we think you’ll enjoy.
    • Most of our games are correlated with academic standards. However there is no specific sequence or curricular framework that must be followed – it’s up to students and parents to choose how they would like to engage.
    • Funterra’s offerings change over time – as we work with new partners we’ll have more to add and in some cases older games will be rotated out of circulation.
    • You can access Funterra on any internet-connected device using a modern web browser such as Google Chrome, Apple Safari, or Microsoft Edge.

Note – some games may not load properly when using Apple Safari, we are working on this.
    • Mobile applications will be available in the future – stay tuned!
  • There are three tiers of access to Funterra based on sign-in status:

    • Visitor: Anyone visiting the site for the first time or returning to it who has not created a free Funterra Member account.
      • Visitors may enjoy a limited selection of games. In order to save achievements and favorites, a user must create a Member account.
    • Member: A user who has created a free Funterra Member account.
      • Members may enjoy a limited selection of games and can also save achievements and favorites. Full access to all content requires an active subscription.

Note: Users who sign in with an existing SMART ID, usually provided by a school district, are considered part of the Member tier.

    • Subscriber: A user who has created a free Funterra Member account and has an active Funterra subscription.
      • Subscribers get full access to all games and can also save achievements and favorites.
    1. Visit Funterra.com/sign-up or or click the Signup link in the top right corner of the screen.
    2. Create a free Member account by entering your email address and creating a password.
      • Note: Funterra is part of the SMART Technologies ecosystem and will send users to SMART’s sign-up wizard, which requires you to sign up through either a Google or Microsoft account provider. Follow the on-screen instructions from your account provider (Google or Microsoft) to sign in, which signs you up for a SMART ID.
      • If you aren’t quite ready to subscribe, you can stop here once you’ve created a free Member account. This allows you to earn achievements and save favorites. However, full access to all games does require an active subscription.
    3. Confirm your subscription and proceed to payments page.
    4. Enter a payment method.
      • Funterra accepts all major credit cards in including Visa, Discover, Mastercard, and American Express.
      • As a Funterra Subscriber, you are charged once a month on the date you signed up.
    5. Create and confirm a PIN. This restricts your child from accessing account settings.
